defining moments
today’s topic shall be a little more personal. on the topic, everyone has a defining moment or moments in their life. unexpected events in life, which shaped us to become who we are. i had a few in my life and this is my story…
1) mom went through 6 excruciating months of treatment in order to keep me. was still born prematurely, but i survived. wahey!
2) whooping cough when i was about 5 years old, resulting in weak lungs and other respiratory issues until now.
3) had enough of people calling me fatty and lost some weight. gained some confidence at the sametime. still maintained my morbid sense of humour to negate the overweight issue.
4) lost my maternal grandma when i was 10 years old and i suddenly didn’t fear death anymore. i hope to go the way she did; surrounded with love and peacefully.
5) chose better education over friends and ended up in Kepong secondary school. made a few life-long friends in that tenure and learnt about life. still learning about it every other day.
6) got a computer and decided i would pursue this as a career rather than being a lawyer. i still wonder what the circumstances might be if i had chosen otherwise.
7) skipped the TAR College offer to wait for my University application, which failed and i ended up with APIIT. again, made some really good friends here. college life was some of the best days of my life, i might say.
met a girl through my friend, who taught me about love. experience is the best teacher, but it can be a painful lesson at times. be prepared to fall and pick yourself up, only to repeat this process again and again.
9) entering the workforce and learning about the “real world”. things seem so simple when you’re young and carefree, but work will soon destroy this perception.
10) starting this bloody blog, thereby sharing my ramblings with total strangers. *grins* thank you all for sharing my thoughts and what not. you all have been a great audience.
well, that’s it in a nutshell. alright, homework time people! yeah, you didn’t think you could come in here and escape so easily did you?! blog and share your own ‘defining moments’ in life and drop me a comment. later…
You were a fatty?? I can’t imagine but i’ll take ur word for it. Hey a person’s weight should not stop him from going for their dreams and being happy. Stay happy my friend!!!!
yeah, Mhay. i guess i just got fed up with the nickname and took charge. cutdown on food and started taking up sports. was no turning back after that. thanks for the morning pick-me-up-wishes
Sure thing Nawruz…See you in the 50’s!!!!
yeah,everyone will have their fair share of story to tell. but if i were to post a comment, it might look like a blog post liao. maybe i’ll put it up in my own blog. hope u wont mind. (;
surething, angel. actually, that was what i wanted
hope to see it soon.
Okay. have posted it up liao. kinda triggered the memories back and felt sad. did you experienced the same?i guess not, most of the things u put up were joyous moments. hmmm…
The only one for me, is when I met Jesus Christ and My life began. It can be your’s to, ask me how.
hi L_J, don’t worry mate. i’ve found Jesus, Muhammad, Zoroaster, Buddha and all the other Prophets from God too. That’s the great thing about being a Baha’i. how can this be, you may ask. well, it’s because we believe in the 3 onenesses:
1) Oneness of God
2) Oneness of Religion
3) Oneness of Mankind.
we respect and study about most other religions
at the end of the day, we all need Faith. irregardless of, who it comes from. true religions always come from a Divine source. peace be with you, my brethren.
hhmmm….no post in a long time. where u gone to?
sorry ler Yvy. you must be bored since Shan’s blog also having some "disruptions". where has he been anyways?
a lot of things happening lately, but i managed to squeeze in a short entry. i was trying to post some pictures up of the BBQ, but blog.com seems to conspire against all my efforts. oh well…maybe later.
very good!
