the misfortune of floppie the puppy

two days ago, i was greeted by a bundle of joy upon entering my dad’s car after work. it was the cutest ‘lil puppy i’ve seen. being a schnauzer, it had a wee beard and looked like an old man. my parents hadn’t named it and i decided i would. so the fella became known as floppie. it liked to flop on your feet wherever you were, hence the name.

now, i noticed on the way home, that floppie had some health problems. it was sneezing, but my parents thought nothing of it. so floppie was introduced into our family and the family cat. she wasn’t too happy about that. poor amber. heh heh heh. the next morning, my mom decided to take it back to her petshop and see if the vets there could check what was wrong with her.

fast forward to yesterday. i was surprised that i did not find floppie in the car and was solemnly told by my mom that she was sick and was returned to the seller. for how long, no one could say. we only had her overnight, but we are already attached to her. i could hear the disappointment and sadness in my mom’s voice. i felt the same way too. i still have some pictures of floppie and also the last look on it’s face as i said goodbye to it before walking into my office building. gosh, i miss her. i’m a sucker for animals.

i pray that she will recover soon and come back to us. kinda miss that furball with four legs. to all my beloved readers, please pray for my puppy’s speedy recovery. thank you.

awww…so sad. i had 13 kitties running around the house at one point. had to give them away. too many to handle. i had a chat with my mum last night. seems like floppie may not be coming back after all. the vet advised us against it as it had a serious infection and it won’t be a very healthy dog. i’m thinking to myself, the more reason why we should get it. am i the only one with this point of view? sigh, poor lil’ thing. i’m gonna miss it. still hoping against all odds that we will get it back.

i understand how u feel. not wanting to abandon the dog in this state but tocare for it till it get well. but it would not be easy. bet u wouldnt want to feel worse if it would come to a point that u had to sent your pet to the vet everytime and u wud feel more sad if it cant be cured. let the pro handle the case. they would treat floppie right. if its possible, just go back and visit her.

woot… i have a dog too but my dog is so annoyingly annoying.. sometimes i wish she is not there but then when she fell sick the whole house was so quiet and i felt that was weird….so i guess when you have a pet, somehow there would be an attraction. even for my dad who doesnt like animals manage to like the dog..

the pictures are stored on my sister’s handphone. actually there is a twist to floppie’s condition. we took her to a vet and she was diagnosed with a corona-like virus, hence the cold. the vet advised us to think properly if we really want to go through the hassle. i think the general consensus is to keep it now. i think i had a small row with my mom as she opposed this idea. she was doing better previously, but she wasn’t eating properly yesterday. we had to force-feed her with some special food mixed with medication. so here’s to floppie’s struggle for survival now.

i believe she was ‘given’ to us for a reason. same like my pet cat, Amber. even if she doesn’t make it, i prefer it rest with people who love her. and at least we can make her life more comfortable even if she doesn’t make it. looks like i have a real life Limpet story on my hands now. small little thing in this big world, trying to fight for dear life. stay strong floppie. i’ll be one step behind.

can’t help it. born an animal lover i guess. i cried whenever one of my pets past away. and trust me, i have had a few. my pair of lovebirds, my mynah bird, my pet fish (family cook and ate him since it was dead, i left the dinner table), my pet chicken (also ate by family, killed). pet kitten, ginger, who was ran over by a car. thinking of it makes me sad now.

seems like i don’t have much luck with pets. thanks for the kind words of support, angel. hope you find your own special pet too!

arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!! this is so screwed up. i went to sleep late last night. awoke at 3am in the morning only to hear my mom crying and my dad was up too. first thing that flashed in my mind, floppie. she hasn’t been well and we have been force-feeding her as she won’t eat. i dreaded going up to their room to hear the news. i left home for work early this morning before they woke up, so i won’t know about anything until i go back. this is killing me, but i don’t want to know at work. i know it’s gonna freak me out and kill my day. i hope my guess was totally wrong.

poor floppie. i didn’t get to say goodbye too.

here i am sitting in front of my keyboard and monitor at work. words can’t describe the level of control it takes to not breakdown crying. floppie did pass away last night. thank you to all, who prayed for her.

Sorry to hear that, my fren!
It reminds me of my pups….. he left like your floppie too…
    sigh. but be strong….

  16. nawooz says:

thanks to all for your comforting words. gonna miss her. whole family is in mourning mode. sis flooded the home PC keyboard as she broke the news to me. in loving memory of Floppie. she will always be loved and remembered.

  17. bLuE AnGeL says:

its saddening to hear such news but nevertheless, Your floppie wud be so glad that she has got such great owners that loved her so much. well, at least its a comfort that her pain and torture had been taken away by God. Nawooz, be strong.

i bet she is in doggie heaven now :) she is now buried in our hearts and the mango tree outside my sister’s room window. gonna miss the ball of fur. thank you very much for the concern and support :) i’m sure she is the luckiest dog at this moment. i’m more worried about my mom now. she took it the hardest.
