the humble rubberband

it’s amazing, how something in liquid form can be converted into something solid yet elastic. try stretching a rubberband with both hands. isn’t it wonderful. you know what is more wonderful than that? humans. we are so much more flexible and stretchable than any rubberband i know. we bend back and forth, side to side in our daily existence on this physical plain. we stretch ourselves to meet deadlines, to meet customer needs and demands, to meet our superior’s expectations and many more. we even stretch ourselves, for our spouses and significant other.

what happens to a rubberband, which has lost it’s elasticity to stretch? it breaks and one hand holding the rubberband is going to get hurt real bad. so do human beings. there is only so much we can take before we begin to feel the strain. if we break, someone is bound to be hurt and my guess is, the person would be you. stretching moderately over a long period of time seems a better option than stretching all outĀ in a short span of time. a rubberband, conditioned by repetitious short stretches will be able to take the strain better later. this is sometimes, not an option in our daily life.

so how do we cope then? i think there is one word, which throughout history has been the single cause of many wars, feuds and death. are you wondering what that word might be? guess no more. it’s the word ‘NO’. no, i will not bow to your demands. wham! war breaks out. no, i will not share my grazing land. bam! two shepherds feud and fuss over the right to the land. no, i will not give you my money. whack! baseball bat to the head and you’re dead (or a vegetable).

learning to say ‘no’ is difficult, but it will save your dearie one day from all the sh*t it will put you through. maybe, just maybe, i will learn to master the NO kung-fu. people have approached me and said that i’m too nice. i should say no and not be taken for a ride. well, maybe i should take their advice seriously and start saying no. so here goes, no, No, nO, NO, NOOOoooo!~

that did feel much betterĀ  v^.^

P.S. i thought i’d leave a note for some “friends”. yes, i can be nice and accomodating, but if you abuse that. don’t come b*tching to me about how i am cruel and heartless. i WILL rip your heart out and feed it to the dogs and spit on your still-warm body. to my “friends”, you know who you are and i am WATCHING you. karma baby, what goes around comes around.
