the talk

all my life, my parents have never stuck their noses into my affairs so long as it didn’t involve boozing, smoking or a crime-filled life. however, off-late, i had both of them individually approach me regarding my choice in relationship. the oddest came yesterday evening on the drive back home. my dad, who i admit is super cool, brought up the exact same topic my mom spoke to me about like a week ago. are they secretly conspiring against me? haha.

i wonder how many of you out there have to deal with parents constantly reminding them to settle down. make the right choice. do something with your life. hurry up and give them grandkids. i’m sure, there are a fair share out there. i feel your pain. lately, i have been receiving ’summonses’ from some friends. some are of my age, while some are younger. why is it people choose to settle down so early? is it due to the fact they are trying to be filial children and fulfill their parent’s wish? i will never know the answer to that question. however, i greatly appreciate it if, those uncles and aunts keep their prying questions of “When is it your turn?” to themselves. a-thank yaw.

got a viewpoint? care to share it? please do.

I learn a joke from a chain mail about this. When your uncles or aunts ask "When is it your turn?" during any wedding. Ask them back the same on any funeral. Hahhaa.. it sure keep them away for a while.
    Good luck!!

heard about that too. but do you wish to bring on the wrath of relatives. especially if you have to face them every year in and year out during the CNY eve dinner? i think not. hehe. better just give them my cheap 2 cent smile and then curse them in my head.

I dont face that problem though.(thank God)Oh well, maybe you could try telling them nicely in the face
that it isn‘t important to know when is your turn but tell them that when it‘s really your turn, prepare for many ang-pows for you might do it several times… hehe… wonder if that‘s better than the funeral thingy… see which one they prefer. Take the number of people who faint as your votes…
